Lok Sabha elections: Yusuf Pathan became MP from Bahrampur, defeated senior Congress leader, know how was his cricket career

New Delhi. Former Indian cricket team cricketer Yusuf Pathan has now entered politics. In the Lok Sabha elections, he has become an MP from Baharampur seat of West Bengal on behalf of Trinamool Congress Party. Yusuf Pathan was pitted against Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Baharampur seat. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury had to face defeat here. However, Yusuf Pathan is not the first cricketer to become an MP. Before this, Gautam Gambhir, Navjot Singh Siddhu, Mohammad Azharuddin, Kirti Azad and Chetan Chauhan have also become MPs.

Yusuf Pathan made his debut in the T20 match. His debut was spectacular. In fact, before the final of the 2007 T20 World Cup, former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag got injured. In his place, MS Dhoni gave Yusuf Pathan a chance. Dhoni made Yusuf Pathan start the innings. However, Yusuf could not do anything special in his debut, he could score only 15 runs in 8 balls. Yusuf Pathan was part of the team that won the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup. After winning the 2011 World Cup, he lifted India's greatest batsman Sachin Tendulkar on his shoulders.
