The full form of IMA is Indian Military Academy. Passing out parade was held at IMA Dehradun on Saturday. This was for the 154th Regular and 137th Technical Graduate Course. IMA Passing Out Parade 2024
General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Northern Command Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar took the salute from the cadets at the passing out parade. IMA Commandant Lieutenant General Sandeep Jain and Deputy Commandant Major General Alok Naresh were also present there.
IMA parade: 394 cadets
A total of 394 cadets passed out in the IMA Parade of 2024. Out of these, 39 are foreign cadets. The Indian Army said that 355 Indian cadets will now join various corps of the Army. They will be posted in different parts of the country, where they will serve the country.
What is the piping ceremony?
During this parade, the 'Piping Ceremony' took place where these cadets, who are going to become officers in the Army, were conferred the rank of commissioned officer by their parents and loved ones.
IMA Best Cadet 2024 awarded Sword of Honour
The best cadet in the entire batch is also selected. He is awarded a gold medal and the Sword of Honour. This year, Under Officer Praveen Singh of the Academy was awarded the prestigious Sword of Honour. He also got the first position in the Order of Merit.
A big challenge for IMA cadets
Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar said, 'The nature and strategy of modern warfare is constantly changing. Technological advancement is constantly influencing the framework of modern warfare. IMA cadets passing out from the Indian Military Academy will have to be prepared to face these challenges.'
War is no longer just a game of bombs
The Commandant-in-Chief of the Northern Command said, “Information warfare, increasing use of drones, autonomous systems, space, cyber EM spectrum, team game of man and machine are the reality of today's times. All these are part of the new war. This is the new normal, which creates new challenges. To face these, cadets have to be ready to be at the forefront.”
