South superstar Rajinikanth on Sunday left to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi. He will soon reach the national capital Delhi. He said that Modi taking power for the third time is a big achievement and a good sign for democracy. The ceremony will be held in the courtyard of Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi on Sunday. Earlier in the day, he was seen leaving for Delhi from his Chennai home. As soon as actor Rajinikanth left for Delhi, he spoke to reporters waiting outside the airport and congratulated Modi. He said, “I am going to attend the swearing-in ceremony… This is a very historic event… Taking office for the third consecutive time is a big achievement of Narendra Modi, my heartiest congratulations to him. People have chosen a strong opposition which is a good sign for democracy.'

He was also asked about his expectations in the next five years, to which Rajinikanth said that governance will be good and that is what he expects. Narendra Modi will take oath as Prime Minister for the third consecutive term on Sunday, June 9, after the NDA secured a majority in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. The mega event will begin at 7:15 pm at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan in the national capital.

On the work front, Rajinikanth has several films lined up for release. He will soon be seen in TJ Gnanavel's 'Vettaiyaan', which will release in October and also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil and Rana Daggubati. He will soon resume shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Coolie'. The film's announcement teaser was well received.
