This is what God had planned… What did SKY say about the amazing catch in the World Cup final

New Delhi. Suryakumar Yadav on Monday described the match-defining catch in the T20 World Cup final against South Africa as God's plan. Suryakumar showed great awareness and concentration and almost ensured the team's victory by taking a brilliant relay catch of David Miller at the long off boundary.

However, Suryakumar did not give much importance to his role in this title win in a telephonic conversation with PTI. The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team defeated South Africa by seven runs in the final played in Barbados on Saturday.

When Suryakumar Yadav was asked if that catch was one of the most important moments of the match, he said, “I am grateful to do something special for the country at that moment. It was God's plan.” Suryakumar's catch reminded many of Kapil Dev's catch off Madan Lal in the 1983 ODI World Cup, which dismissed the great Vivian Richards.

South Africa needed 16 off the final over and the dangerous David Miller went for the big shot on a Hardik Pandya full-toss over long-off but Surya Kumar Yadav caught the ball near the boundary, let it go beyond the boundary rope and then came back to take a brilliant catch.

Talking about the catch, Dilip said in a PTI video, “When it happens, the decision and awareness at that moment is very important. Having the confidence to know that he can throw the ball and come back and catch it, that decision taken at that moment was the best in which he excelled.” The Indian team is currently stuck in Bridgetown due to this storm. Air services have been completely shut down due to this storm.
