New Delhi. The 5th match of T20 World Cup 2024 was played between Uganda and Afghanistan. Afghanistan registered a spectacular victory in this match. Uganda won the toss and decided to bowl first which proved costly for them. Afghanistan batted first and scored 183 runs. While chasing the target, Uganda was all out for just 58 runs. In this way Uganda had to face a shameful defeat.

After losing the toss and batting first, both the openers of Afghanistan team batted brilliantly. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran came out to bat first from the team. Gurbaz played a brilliant innings of 76 runs. Zadran scored 70 runs. There was a partnership of 154 runs between the two. Apart from this, no player could bat well. Najibullah scored 2, Gulbadin Naib scored 4 and Mohammad Nabi scored 14 runs. In this way, Afghanistan scored 183 runs in 20 overs. Captain Brian Masaba and Cosmas Kayevuta took 2-2 wickets from Uganda's side.

Now it was Uganda's turn to chase the target. Uganda's batting was very poor. Raunak Patel and Simon Sejaji, who came to open for Uganda, scored 4-4 runs. Roger Mukasa scored 0, Riyat Ali Shah scored 11 and Robinson Obuya scored 14 runs. Apart from this, most of the players flopped. In this way, Uganda's team was all out for 15 runs. Fazalhaq Farooqi bowled brilliantly for Afghanistan and took a total of 5 wickets.
