According to CCB sources, a rave party was organised under the pretext of a birthday party, in which most of the people came from neighbouring states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. They said that some people from Bengaluru were also involved in it. Based on the information, the CCB raided the place and took blood samples of the people who attended the party. Police sources said that later the blood report confirmed that 86 people, including Hema, were found infected due to drug consumption.

According to sources, a total of 103 people attended the party. These people included 73 men and 30 women. During the raid, the police also seized MDMA (ecstasy) pills, MDMA crystals, hydro cannabis, cocaine, high-end cars, lights and DJ worth Rs 1.5 crore.
