Prime Minister Modi said this while responding to the discussion on the motion of thanks on the President's address in the Upper House. The Prime Minister said that he had hoped that during the discussion, the members of the opposition parties would rise above party expectations and express their views on the issue of paper leak. He said, 'But unfortunately, such a sensitive issue, an issue related to the fate of the youth of my country, was sacrificed to politics by them (opposition members). What could be more unfortunate than this?'
Modi assured the youth of the country that the government will not spare those who cheat them. He said, 'Steps are being taken to ensure that those who play with the future of the youth of my country get the harshest punishment.' He said that the government has also made a law in the Parliament against these irregularities.
The Prime Minister said, “We are strengthening the entire system so that the youth of my country do not have to live in a state of apprehension. We are working towards ensuring that they can showcase their capabilities with full confidence and achieve their rights.”
During the discussion on the motion of thanks, many opposition members in the Upper House had raised the issue of problems being faced by students and their parents due to the alleged leak of the NEET exam question paper and accused the government of not taking necessary steps in time. The issue of question paper leak was also mentioned in the President's address.
