New Delhi. Two stalwarts of the Indian team, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, gave their all to make India the world champion in this ICC T20 World Cup. Both the players ended the 17-year-long T20 World Cup drought. Team India won this trophy in 2007 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Captains Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their retirement from this format after the T20 World Cup. Now fans are worried about which ICC trophy these two will be seen playing in again. BCC Secretary Jay Shah has given good news to all the fans through a statement.

Indian team captain Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli, along with their teammates, finally ended the Indian team's World Cup drought. In 2011, Team India won the ODI World Cup under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Virat Kohli was a part of this team but Rohit Sharma was not in the team. Last year, India had to face defeat in the final of the ODI World Cup and Rohit was heartbroken along with many fans. In just a few months, Team India made up for it by becoming the world champion.

BCCI Secretary Jai Shah, while talking to PTI, has given great news to the fans. He has made it clear that senior players will be in the team in the ICC Champions Trophy to be played in Pakistan next year. Senior players clearly mean that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be part of the team and both of them together would like to put another ICC trophy in India's bag. The way this team is progressing, Jai Shah said, “Our next goal is to win the Test World Championship and the Champions Trophy tournament. This tournament is going to have almost the same team that is playing now. Senior players will definitely be a part of the team.”
