T20 World Cup will be organized from June 2 Pakistan will not get a chance to play warm-up match
New Delhi. Pakistan cricket team captained by Babar Azam will not get a chance to play warm-up matches in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. ICC announced the schedule of warm-up matches ahead of the T20 World Cup starting June 2, in which the Indian team will face Bangladesh in the warm-up match on June 1. It has not been decided yet at which place Team India will play the warm-up match. The England team will also have a direct competition in the main tour. In the World Cup, 17 out of 20 teams will play warm-up matches while three teams are out of it.
Pakistan cricket fans were surprised when ICC announced the schedule of warm-up matches. Pakistan and England teams are not playing warm-up matches in the T20 World Cup because both these teams will play a 4-match T20 series from May 22. This series will run till 30th May. Important for both the teams to prepare for the T20 World Cup. Both teams will arrive late for the World Cup, so there is no need for both to play a warm-up match.
Such a record of T20 World Cup…which is untouched by Virat-Rohit, only an Indian can do this feat.
Pakistan vs England T20 series from 22 May
Pakistan team is currently on England tour where it has to play T20 series. The first T20 match of the series will be played on 22 May, while the second T20 match will be played on 25 May and the third T20 match will be played on 28 May. On May 30, both the teams will play the fourth and last T20 match of the series. Pakistan has not yet announced its 15-member team for the T20 World Cup. After the series against England, Pakistani team will announce the team for the World Cup.
15 players can play in warm-up
Usually, in the T20 World Cup, a team plays two warm-up matches, but after this the ICC has given permission to the teams to play one warm-up match instead of two. Because it depends on the arrival of the team. Many players from England are currently playing in IPL. Many players have returned to England to play the home T20 series against Pakistan. In the warm-up match, teams can field all their 15 players. It will not get the status of an international match.
