But the biggest question is whether this is Mahi's last IPL season? CSK team's batting coach Michael Hussey has given a big statement in this regard. Hussey has expressed hope that Dhoni can play for the next two years. CSK's batting coach said that Mahi is batting well at the moment.
A day before the start of IPL 2024, 42-year-old Dhoni surprised everyone by handing over the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad. Michael Hussey said in ESPN's 'Around the Wicket' show, 'We are hoping that he will keep playing. He is batting very well. 'We all were surprised by this decision of Dhoni'
On Dhoni's decision to step down from captaincy, Michael Hussey said, 'MS had said that he will not attend the captains' meeting before the tournament. After this we all were surprised as to what was happening. Then he had said that from now onwards Rituraj will be the captain. There was a shock in the beginning but we knew that Ruturaj was the right choice.
