What is UGC NET? What is JRF?

The full form of UGC is University Grants Commission. The full form of NET is National Eligibility Test. The full form of JRF is Junior Research Fellowship. The framework of UGC NET JRF exam is prepared by UGC. While the exam is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency).

The UGC NET exam is conducted twice a year – June and December. There is only one exam for NET JRF. Only the cutoff is different. Those who qualify the NET and are in the top 6% merit list are eligible for Junior Research Fellowship.

What is UGC NET JRF for?

If you want to become an assistant professor or take admission in PhD, then it is necessary to pass the NET examination. What is UGC NET eligibility?

If you want to appear for Junior Research Fellowship exam, then your maximum age can be 32 years (for general category). Other reserved categories including OBC, SC, ST get relaxation of 3 to 7 years.

How to appear for UGC NET exam?

If you want to appear in the UGC NET exam and fulfill the required eligibility then you have to fill its online form. The form for the NET exam to be held in June is filled in February-March and the application form for the NET exam to be held in December is filled in August-September.
