New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stressed the importance of the recent Chabahar port agreement between India and Iran. Along with this, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar thanked Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Iranian Foreign Minister Amir-Abdullahian and expressed his gratitude towards both the leaders. Both these leaders had died in a helicopter crash a day earlier. The Foreign Minister said on Monday that both these people have played an important role in completing the agreement. Speaking at Chabahar port, Jaishankar said that we were trying to reach an agreement with Iran for almost 20 years. We could have made a short-term deal because there were a lot of problems from their side. But thanks to those two people in recent months, the President of Iran and the Foreign Minister of Iran, who unfortunately died in a helicopter crash yesterday.
