New Delhi. By winning the final of T20 World Cup 2024, India may have won this title for the second time, but with this, not one but two bad news came for the team late on Saturday night. Both veterans Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma also announced their retirement from the shortest format of the game. Both will now be seen playing only in ODIs and Tests for India. BCCI President Roger Binny said that it may take two to three years to fill the place of both in Team India.

Binny was present in Barbados to watch the T20 World Cup final along with secretary Jay Shah. After the final, Binny said, “A lot of cricketers are coming through the IPL, but it will take some time to bridge this gap. They have contributed a lot to our team.”

Meanwhile, the BCCI has started looking for the next coach of the team. Gautam Gambhir is leading the race. But Binny did not say much about this. “So far we have not received any concrete information. Gautam Gambhir has a lot of experience. He has worked with many teams.”

After the Indian team's World Cup victory, the BCCI has given them a big gift. On Sunday, the BCCI has decided to give Rs 125 crore as prize money to the World Cup winning team. This amount will be different from the amount given by the ICC to the World Cup winning team. One thing is clear that after this victory, Team India's batsmen are going to become very rich.
