There is always demand for incense sticks in the market. Shoaib Ansari, a youth from Rahimdih village under Rajun block of Banka district, started the business of making incense sticks. Shoaib had to take a loan due to lack of capital. There was some trouble in the beginning, but now he is working to establish himself as a successful young entrepreneur.

Shoaib told that he often wanted to do something different. So that others can also get employment. During this time, I came to know through YouTube that by setting up agarbatti industry, one can provide employment to others along with good income. The biggest obstacle in starting the agarbatti industry was capital. To overcome the problem of capital, he started agarbatti industry by taking a loan of 10 lakh under the Prime Minister Udyami Yojana in 2021. In this agarbatti industry, men as well as women of rural areas are getting employment opportunities.

Annual income of Rs 10 lakh
Shoaib Ansari told that the automatic machine has been installed at a cost of Rs 75 thousand. With the help of this automatic machine, incense sticks are prepared. He told that before preparing incense sticks, powder of different types of fragrant flowers, thin bamboo coins, black powder, chemicals etc. are mixed in a mixer machine. After this the mixer is put in the automatic machine. After this, bamboo coins are inserted one by one. After this the incense sticks are ready. He told that about 50 thousand pieces of incense sticks are prepared in a day. Apart from rural areas, incense sticks are sold in many markets including Punsia, Amarpur, Bharko, Dhoraiya, Bhagalpur, Sultanganj, Asarganj. This results in an annual income of Rs 10 lakh.
