Sanjay Leela Bhansali's niece Sharmin Segal told News18, “As a creative person, it is important to accept that at the end of the day, our audience is the king. They have every right to express their opinion, be it positive or negative. There was a time when I was not paying attention to a lot of reviews but then slowly I realised that I am also losing a lot of love that I was getting. I have started paying attention to that now. In the last few days, I decided to take it all into account.”

'I gave my all to the character of Alamzeb'

He further said, 'I have given my all to the character of Alamzeb. We always focus on the negative things but there are many positive things too which we never talk about. Maybe talking about the positive things is not that interesting and we ignore them to a great extent. People's opinions shape you as an actor and as a human being. These are real people who respond to you and it makes you realize how many people you can reach. So these opinions of people are very important.'

Started acting with the 2019 film 'Malaal'

Well, this is not the first time Sharmin has appeared in front of the camera and on screen. She has worked in many other films of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, including 'Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela', 'Bajirao-Mastani' as an assistant director. She made her acting debut with the 2019 film 'Malaal' starring Meezaan Jafri. Sharmin has also worked as an assistant director in the film 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'.
