New Delhi. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Hiramandi' has been in the headlines for a long time. The audience is eagerly waiting for the release of this upcoming period drama. Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharmin Sehgal, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Richa Chadha are going to be seen in important roles in this multi-starrer. Recently Richa Chadha has spoken openly about her series.

Actress Richa Chadha revealed about the upcoming period drama 'Hiramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' and how filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali worked on the costumes to give a glimpse of reality in the series. She used original vintage jewelery and clothes. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is going to debut on the OTT platform with 'Hiramandi: The Diamond Bazaar'. The series presents the cultural reality of district Hiramandi to the audience in a new way through the stories of tawaifs and their protectors, based on the turbulent backdrop of the Indian independence struggle of the 1940s.

Speaking to IANS on the sidelines of the Cinevistar International Film Festival 2024 (CIFF), Richa said that Bhansali is very conscious of his world. She further says, 'This is her vision. He wants grandeur, poetry, music, outfits and jewellery. The jewelery we are wearing is all genuine. Even if it is three-four kilograms of jewellery, it is all genuine, all old jewellery. In this, old clothes have been used as costumes.

Talking about the preparations done for the role of the much awaited web series 'Lajjo', Richa said, 'I had to take a lot of classes to learn Urdu. When I was a child, I had learned Kathak for a decade, so I had to improve it. I also did voice modulation.

The series will come on Netflix
The 37-year-old actress said, 'I tried to bring the way women talked in the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s into my speech. There was a different rhythm in that conversation. Let us tell you, 'Hiramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' will soon premiere on Netflix.
