A man from Hyderabad ordered idlis worth Rs 7.3 lakh from Swiggy in 12 months

The company said in a statement that the busiest time to order idlis is between 8 am and 10 am. Consumers in many cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Coimbatore and Mumbai also enjoy idli during dinner.

Highest demand for Idli in these 3 cities
Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai emerged as the top-3 cities where idli is ordered the most. After this there are Mumbai, Pune, Coimbatore, Delhi, Vizag, Kolkata and Vijayawada. Plain idli was liked more in all the cities.

Swiggy said, “Rava Idli is especially popular in Bengaluru, while Ghee/Neyi Karam Podi Idli is a favorite in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. “Thatte Idli and Mini Idli have also found regular spots among Idli orders in the cities.”

Masala Dosa at number one
After Masala Dosa, Idli is the second most ordered breakfast item. According to the online food delivery platform, the top-5 restaurants famous for Idli are Asha Tiffins in Bengaluru, A2B- Adyar Anand Bhavan in Bengaluru and Chennai, Varalakshmi Tiffins in Hyderabad, Shree Akshayam in Chennai and Veena Stores in Bengaluru.
