And now Payal Kapadia has done wonders. Payal Kapadia has become the first Indian director whose film won the Grand Prix Award at Cannes. This is the first time that an Indian film has received this award at the Cannes Film Festival. Payal Kapadia's film 'All We Imagine as Light' premiered at the 77th Cannes Film Festival on Saturday, May 25. Everyone liked the film here and it won Cannes' second most prestigious award, Le Grand Prix Award.

After receiving the award at the Cannes Film Festival, Payal Kapadia said, 'This film is about the friendship of three women and many times women stand against each other. This is how society is made and it is very unfortunate. But for me friendship is a very important relationship because it can create more solidarity, inclusiveness and empathy towards each other.'
