TV actor Karan Vohra deeply understands the love and sacrifice of his mother. After his father died at an early age, his mother single-handedly raised him and his younger siblings. Forgetting his own desires, he fulfilled the needs of his children. Kept them tied to the thread of good values, so that the children do not go astray in the absence of their father. Karan says that in my eyes mother has the greatest place. This is the reason why I immediately agreed to do the show 'Main Hoon Saath Tere'. Recently when Karan came to Lucknow, we had a lot of talks with him.

Mother's values did not let me go astray

Whenever any question comes about my mother, I go into flashback. I remember well, when my father passed away, my mother was a housewife. I was about 13-14 years old. At that time there was not much understanding as to what had happened and what was happening. There was a burden on mother's shoulders throughout the night. There was no one in front or behind. At that time everyone was there to speak but there was no one to speak. Then how did he fulfill those responsibilities? He left no stone unturned. Gave better things than before. Every parent teaches, but giving good upbringing and values is a big thing. Children may be lost when fathers are not present but their values keep us together. I was the eldest. There were two younger brothers and sisters behind me. Whatever I do, they will also follow the same path. There was no one to see. He kept us together even in the midst of busyness. It is because of them that we have reached here today. His only wish was that we get everything good and we become better people. He gave us everything except his desires. I saw the same struggle in my show also. Often we get upset and ask why this happened, but after some time we understand that whatever happened, happened for the good.

'I am here because of Saurabh Tiwari of Lucknow'

I am from a business family. We are an infrastructure business. I was in it first. The producer is Saurabh Tiwari of Lucknow. It is because of him that I am sitting here today. He was the first person who gave me a break. I told Saurabh ji that I don't know whether I will be able to act or not, you will have to help me. He told me the story and said that you have to do this part. The name of that show was Zindagi Ki Mehek. He wanted me to do it because he was not finding the kind of actor he wanted to make. I told him you have to help me. He helped and expressed full confidence in me.

Got time to go home during web series

Last year I became a father. Children and wife are in Delhi. Not in DailySoap but got to spend a lot of time with the children during the web series. My show 'Imli' ended last September. Signed the web series in October and continued doing it till January. There is a gap in the middle of the series. I used to immediately catch a flight from Mumbai to Delhi because before that I did not get time to go to Delhi for daily soaps.

Money is important but it's not everything

I have done five projects so far. A web series will come in June, named 'Naam Naam Nishan'. I am lucky that I am getting good work. This is the biggest thing for every actor. I am a person who likes to do good work. I don't give that much importance to money. Money is important but it is not everything. I believe work should be fun. Every morning when I wake up, I feel that I have to do this scene, that. Everything in life should be challenging. There should be anxiety before every scene, so that I can prepare hard to give my best performance. I believe in 'do less, do more'. However, it depends on the individual. My situation cannot be like everyone else's. For someone, working every day is more important. Nowadays very motivated people have come. They say, 'Follow your passion'. This is fine for me but it would not be right to say this to a waiter working in a hotel. Anyway, to drive a passion car, there must be petrol. Everyone's perspective may be different.

Parents have now become children's friends

Actor Karan Vohra says that the thinking of TV still has not changed much. The same old shows featuring mother-in-law and daughter-in-law are seen. However, earlier also some different shows used to come but their number was less. It is the same even today. When something new happens, both the creator and the doer enjoy it. Everyone tries their best for him. Our producer Sonali Jaffer wanted to bring something new to tell today's story. Anyway, nowadays it is the children who decide everything for the parents. Parents have now become friends of children. You see how much change is taking place in the society. In our show a child is approving a husband for his mother. I am very attached to this story.

Every character has its own demands

Every character has a demand. We have to live up to what the writer has thought, what he has created on paper and what the director is thinking. If that work is done and people remember that the character had attitude and ego, then really our job is done. The girls liked the show in which I was a little serious. I became a DJ in 'Imli', which was fun. He was completely different from my earlier characters. The character I play in this show (Main Hoon Saath Tere) comes from a big family from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Due to circumstances in his childhood, he is sent out of home to study, due to which he misses his father's love a lot. He sees the lack of his father's love in the child who has no father. For this reason he wants to fulfill the lack of father's love by making him his son.
