New Delhi. New Zealand defeated Pakistan in the third T20 match and leveled the 5-match series 1-1. In the match played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, the visiting Kiwi team achieved the target of 179 runs set by Pakistan at the loss of 3 wickets with 10 balls remaining. For the Kiwi team, Mark Chapman played an unbeaten inning of 87 runs in 42 balls. Chapman scored runs at a strike rate of 207.14. He hit 9 fours and 4 sixes in his innings. Chapman was chosen player of the match for his excellent batting. The fourth T20 match of the series will be played in Lahore on 25 April.

Chasing the target of 179 runs set by Pakistan (PAK vs NZ), the Kiwi team won by 3 wickets in 18.2 overs. Tim Robinson and Tim Seifert made a partnership of 42 runs for the first wicket for New Zealand. Seifert was out after scoring 21 runs on 16 balls. He was clean bowled by Abbas Afridi. Naseem Shah gave Pakistan its second success by bowling Robinson on the score of 28. After this Dean Foxcroft and Mark Chapman took charge. Both of them made a partnership of 117 runs for the third wicket. Foxcroft was out after scoring 31 runs in 29 balls. For Pakistan, Abbas Afridi took two wickets while Naseem Shah took one wicket.

Earlier, New Zealand captain Michael Bracewell won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat. The host team scored 178 runs at the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Young openers Sam Ayub and Babar Azam made a partnership of 55 runs for the first wicket. Ayub played an innings of 32 runs in 22 balls. Ish Sodhi got him caught by James Neeson. Babar Azam was out after scoring 37 runs.
