Tanushree started the MeToo movement in India in 2018, when she accused Nana Patekar, choreographer Ganesh Acharya and director Vivek Agnihotri of misbehaving during the shooting of the film. Tanushree said in her statement that during the shooting of a song of the film Horn OK Please in 2008, Nana had 'tried to sexually abuse' her. Tanushree had said that the song was to be filmed on only one actor, but still Nana was present on the set on the day of shooting.

What can we talk about them? Everyone knew the truth. What could I say at that time, when nothing like this had happened? Suddenly someone says that you did this, you did that. How would I have answered all these things? Should I have said that I did not do this? I know the truth that I did not do anything.'

Nana Patekar also talked about his family in this interview. He told how he used to smoke 60 cigarettes a day. But he had to give up all this because of his sister. He used to smoke cigarettes even while bathing and the situation had become such that the smell of his smoke in the car was so bad that no one liked to sit with him.
