Mumbai Indians stuck in trouble, dreaded captain's team will face trouble

Delhi Capitals performed well in bits and pieces in the tournament, registering spectacular wins in many matches and also suffered embarrassing defeats in many others. However, by winning three out of the last four matches, it has reached sixth place in the points table and if it defeats Mumbai, its claim for the playoffs will be strengthened. Now even a defeat can prove costly for Mumbai, who is ranked eighth in the points table. The most positive thing for Delhi has been the form of captain Rishabh Pant who is improving match after match. His performance behind the wicket has been excellent and he is playing freely while batting. On Wednesday, he played an unbeaten innings that won the match against Gujarat Titans.

Delhi has got a good top-order batsman in the form of Jack Fraser McGurk, but better performance is expected from opener Prithvi Shaw because as an impact substitute, his responsibility is only to bat. Shai Hope, who played in place of David Warner in the last match, could not do any wonders, hence the Australian batsman may return to the team. Tristan Stubbs has been effective while Axar Patel, who came up the batting order against Gujarat, has also performed brilliantly.

Kuldeep Yadav and Axar have shown amazing spin bowling but Delhi's fast bowlers will have to perform better. Fast bowler Enrich Norkia has given runs at an economy rate of around 14. Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar and Ishant Sharma have also not been effective. Mumbai Indians had registered their first win this season against Delhi only. Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma have performed well in bits and pieces while Tim David, Ishan Kishan and Hardik have not been able to play big innings.
