New Delhi. When Chennai Super Kings was eliminated from IPL 2024 after losing to Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 18, many people thought that this was MS Dhoni's last match. Many commentators also seemed angry that the RCB players did not bid him farewell. But everyone knows that Dhoni has not made any such announcement of retirement. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO Kasi Vishwanathan hopes that Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be seen playing in IPL 2025.

Dhoni, who led Chennai Super Kings to five IPL titles, had decided to step down from captaincy a day before the start of this season. After this this responsibility was handed over to Rituraj Gaikwad. Since then there were speculations that this could be Dhoni's last season in the tournament. But Kashi Vishwanathan does not believe so.

Kasi Vishwanathan said in response to a question asked on CSK's YouTube channel, 'I don't know. This is a question that only MS can answer. We have always respected MS's decision. We left it there. He said, 'As you all know, he has always taken and announced his decisions at the appropriate time. We hope that we will know about it only when he takes the decision.

Vishwanathan said, 'We are hopeful that he will be available for CSK next year. These are the thoughts and expectations of the fans and me. Dhoni scored 161 runs off 73 balls in IPL 2024 and also took many great catches. The IPL mega auction will be held at the end of the year and if Dhoni remains, there is no doubt that CSK will retain him. (Input Bhasha)
