Manoj Bajpayee is one of those actors who has strengthened independent cinema in Bollywood. In his 100th film of his career 'Bhaiya Ji', he has come to the audience in an action avatar different from his image. This revenge story set in the land of Bihar has been made as a single screen action entertainer, which definitely has some strong Desi action scenes, but the weak script has dimmed the shine of 'Bhaiya Ji'.
Story of 'Bhaiya Ji'
The story of the film is of Bihari Babu Ram Charan Tripathi aka Bhaiya Ji (Manoj Bajpayee), who is the Robin Hood of his area. Once the whole area trembled at his name. With his shovel, he has sent many big animals to the next world. But due to the promise given to his father, he leaves all the bloodshed and starts living a decent life with his stepmother and brother. Then the painful murder of his innocent brother forces him to pick up the shovel again and become dreaded. To know who burns in the fire of Bhaiya Ji's revenge, we will have to watch the film.

'Bhaiya Ji' movie review
The film's director Apoorv Singh Karki had garnered a lot of praise for his realistic style debut film 'Sirf Ek Banda Kaafi Hai'. This time he has made a masala film completely different from that film, which has a larger than life hero. But, there is neither novelty in the story nor spiciness in the treatment. Rather, the treatment and slow motion action of the film reminds you of superhit films like 'Pushpa' and 'KGF'. Due to the weak story and dull screenplay, 'Bhaiya Ji' is not able to create the charm of Pushparaj or Rocky Bhai on screen.
There are only two emotions in this film – sadness and anger. Because of this, this film does not become a complete entertainer. Even the dialogues are not such that you can whistle. Yes, some of Manoj Bajpayee's Desi style action scenes can definitely get applause on single screens. A big weakness of the film is the average production design. The production designer has to understand that the audience has already recognized Lucknow so much on screen that you cannot settle everything from Bihar to Delhi there. The way Delhi railway station has been shown in an important scene of the film, it looks completely fake. The editing of the film also needed smartness, so that the first half could be made more tight.
Talking about the strong point of the film 'Bhaiya Ji', it is Bhaiya Ji himself i.e. Manoj Bajpayee. Despite his normal height, he has fit the strong character of Bhaiya Ji. However, his period films are not seen on screen as much as they are discussed. Maithili (Zoya Hussain), who supports him at every step, has done sharp action. Zoya impresses despite a limited role. On the other hand, the character of Suvinder Vicky, who has proved his acting prowess in the web series 'Kohra', has not been developed properly. Apart from establishing cruelty in one scene, nothing is known about his character Chandrabhan, who he is and what he does.
Talking about music, Sandeep Chowta's background score is good. The songs of the film 'Chakka Jam', 'Baag Ka Kareja' and 'Bhai Ka Viyog' have been made well.
Why watch- If you are a fan of Manoj Bajpayee then you can enjoy his different action avatars.
