India started with a win, Bangladesh surrendered at home, hosts lost due to Renuka-Pooja's pace


New Delhi. The Indian women's cricket team has performed brilliantly on the Bangladesh tour and won the first T20 match. Indian women defeated host Bangladesh by 44 runs. With this victory, the Indian team has taken a 1-0 lead in the 5-match series. This series is part of the preparations for the T20 World Cup to be held this year.

The first match of the five T20 match series between India and Bangladesh women's team was played in Sylhet. Batting first, the Indian women's team scored 145 runs for 7 wickets. Yastika Bhatia scored the maximum 36 runs for India. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur played an inning of 30 runs. Shefali Verma scored 31 and Richa Ghosh scored 23 runs.

Virat Kohli became the first batsman to score 500 runs in IPL 2024, Rohit-Rahul, Yashasvi-Gil not even close.

In response to the Indian team's 145 runs, the host Bangladesh women's team could score only 101 runs for 8 wickets. On his behalf, captain Nigar Sultana scored 51 runs. She was the only batsman to score a half-century in the match, but her innings did not help the team. Apart from Nigar Sultana, only two Bangladeshi batsmen Murshida Khatoon (13) and Shorna Akhtar (11) could reach double figures.

India's medium pacer Renuka Singh was the most successful bowler. He took 3 wickets for 18 runs. Renuka was chosen player of the match for this performance. Pooja Vastrakar took 2 wickets. Shreyanka Patil, Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav got one wicket each.
