Agniveer Air

Candidates joining the Indian Air Force under the Agneepath scheme are called Agniveer Air Force. They are appointed for 4 years. After this, only 25% of Agniveers get a chance to join the Navy permanently. To become an Agniveer, your age should be between 17.5 years to 21 years. To become an Agniveer, candidates must have passed Intermediate/10+2/equivalent examination with science subjects. Also, there should be a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and English combined and 50% marks in English as well.

NDA

Candidates who have passed 12th can apply for NDA. You have to pass the exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). After that you have to pass the SSB interview. This exam is conducted twice a year in all major cities across India. To appear in NDA exam, your age should be 16.5 to 19.5 years. The candidate should have passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Students who have given 12th exam can also apply for it. You can apply by visiting the website www.upsc.gov.in. Selected candidates have to undergo 3 years of training.

Combined Defence Services Examination(CDS)

Through CDS, men can get permanent commission in the Indian Air Force. To apply for this, the age of the students should be between 20 to 24 years. This recruitment is only for unmarried men. To apply for this, you have to do graduation (three-year course) in any subject from any recognized university. Or you should have done BE / BTech (four-year course) with Physics and Mathematics at 10 + 2 level. Final year / semester students can also apply. For more information you can visit www.upsc.gov.in.

NCC Special Entry

With a 'C' certificate from the Air Wing Senior Division of the National Cadet Corps, you can apply for the flying branch of the Indian Air Force. In this, men get both permanent and short commission. Women get only short service commission. To apply in this, the age of the candidate should be 20 to 24 years. Only unmarried women and men can apply for NCC Special Entry. Candidates should have minimum 50% marks in both Mathematics and Physics in 12th. Along with this, graduation (three-year course) with minimum 60% marks or equivalent in any subject from a recognized university. Or ORBE/B.Tech (four-year course) with minimum 60% marks or equivalent from a recognized university.

AFCAT

AFCAT

You can appear for AFCAT exam for Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch. This allows you to join the Flying Branch of the Air Force. Short Service Commission is for 14 years. To apply for FCAT, you must be between 20 and 24 years of age. Only unmarried women and men can apply for this. In class 12th, candidates must have secured minimum 50% marks in both Mathematics and Physics. Also, graduation in any subject (three-year course) with 60% marks from a recognized university. Or BE/B.Tech (four-year course) or equivalent with minimum 60% marks from a recognized university.
