New Delhi. Royal Challengers Bangalore had to face defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders by a close margin of 1 run. This is RCB's seventh win in 8 matches in the 17th season of IPL. With this defeat, RCB's hopes of reaching the playoffs are almost over. While chasing the target of 223 runs, RCB tried their best but lost on the last ball. RCB lost the wickets of Virat Kohli and Captain Faf Du Plessis early but Rajat Patidar and Will Jacques kept the team in the match by making a century partnership for the third wicket. Jaques was out after scoring 55 runs while Patidar played an inning of 52 runs.

Andre Russell gave a big blow to RCB by dismissing both the batsmen in the same over. After this, RCB's score increased from 137 for 2 wickets to 155 runs for 6 wickets. In the last over, RCB needed 21 runs to win and Karn Sharma increased the excitement by hitting three sixes in the first four balls of Mitchell Starc. He was out after being caught by the bowler on the fifth ball and on the last ball, Lockie Ferguson was run out while trying to steal the second run due to which the team missed getting close to the target.

Umpires cannot turn a blind eye before taking such poor decisions… Former cricketers got angry after Kohli was given out.

Was Kohli out or not out? There was a huge ruckus in the KKR-RCB match, Virat fired on the umpire.

After the defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders, RCB can no longer reach the playoffs on its own. To qualify directly for the playoffs, a team must win 8 matches, so that it can reach the playoffs with 16 points. RCB now has only 6 matches left in the league. If RCB is successful in winning its remaining 6 matches, then it will have only 14 points. In such a situation, it cannot qualify for the playoffs on its own with 14 points. RCB will have to win the remaining matches by a big margin so that its net run rate is better. If RCB loses even one of these matches, then its hopes of reaching the playoffs will be dashed.

After the brilliant batting of Phil Salt and captain Shreyas Iyer, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated RCB by one run due to the good performance of the bowlers under pressure led by Andre Russell (23/3). Salt scored 48 runs with the help of seven fours and three sixes in 14 balls, while Iyer hit seven fours and one six during his innings of 50 runs in 36 balls, due to which KKR scored 222 runs for seven wickets. RCB counterattacked on the basis of half-centuries by Will Jacques (55 runs) and Rajat Patidar (52 runs) and a partnership of 102 runs in 48 balls for the third wicket between them, but the team lost four wickets in the 12th and 13th overs. Lost it.
