New Delhi: Delhi had the lowest unemployment rate in the January to March quarter this year, while Kerala stood first. This survey was conducted among the age group of 15 to 29 years. This report of Periodic Labor Force Survey (PLFS) has been released by the Ministry of Statistics. 22 states and union territories were included in the survey. Jammu and Kashmir, Telangana, Rajasthan and Odisha are in the top 5 positions in unemployment rate.Where to see the unemployment rate?
The unemployment rate between the ages of 15 and 29 was 17 percent in January-March. This is more than 16.5 percent in the previous quarter. However, the unemployment rate between January and March in 2023 was slightly higher i.e. 17.3. The unemployment rate in Delhi was 3.1 percent, 9 percent in Gujarat and 9.5 percent in Haryana. This figure was 11.5 percent in Karnataka and 12.1 percent in Madhya Pradesh. After the Corona epidemic, the unemployment rate among the age group of 15 to 29 years has remained at the top continuously, yet there has been some improvement in it.
Know the condition of these states too
The unemployment rate was recorded at 48.6% in Jammu and Kashmir, 46.6% in Kerala, 39.4% in Uttarakhand, 38.4% in Telangana and 35.9% in Himachal Pradesh. The female unemployment rate in the first quarter of this year was 22.7 percent, up 0.2 percentage points from the previous quarter. The PLFS tracks unemployment, labour force participation and labour population ratio. The survey considered unemployed those who did not work for at least one hour in the entire week.
