Tips To Control Triglycerides: You must have often seen cholesterol patients discussing bad cholesterol (LDL) and good cholesterol (HDL), but most people do not pay attention to triglycerides. Triglycerides are also a problem related to cholesterol, which can cause many serious problems including heart attack. To control triglycerides along with LDL and HDL, medicines along with better diet, good lifestyle and regular physical activity are required. Today we will know from the doctor what is triglyceride and what dangers it can cause.

of New Delhi Dr. Sonia Rawat, Director of Preventive Health and Wellness Department of Sir Gangaram Hospital told PressNews24. Triglycerides are fats found in our blood, which the body uses to create energy. The amount of triglycerides in our blood should be less than 150 mg/dL. If it exceeds this, health starts getting harmed. When triglycerides combine with bad cholesterol, the risk of heart attack and stroke increases. High cholesterol patients should monitor their triglyceride properly and try to keep it under control. One should not be careless regarding this.

Doctor Sonia Rawat says that triglycerides can increase due to our food and drinks. Consuming foods high in calories and fat, unhealthy foods and junk foods can increase this problem. If triglycerides increase excessively, it can also cause short-term memory loss, swelling in the liver, stomach pain, skin problems. If triglycerides of high cholesterol patients become high, the risk of heart attack, stroke and other heart diseases increases. In such a situation, triglycerides should be checked from time to time and if it is high, then medicine should be taken after consulting a doctor.

According to experts, many medicines including statins and fenofibrate are used to control triglycerides. These medicines also help in controlling cholesterol. However, people should not take medicines for cholesterol or triglycerides on their own and in case of any problem, they should consult a doctor. To control triglycerides through natural methods, one should take a healthy diet, do regular physical activity and adopt a healthy lifestyle. Apart from this, checkups should be done from time to time.
