Anasuya Sengupta has created history at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. Kolkata-based Anasuya has become the first Indian to win the Best Actress award at this prestigious film festival. She has received this award for the film 'Shameless', which is directed by Bulgarian filmmaker Konstantin Bozanov. In the film, Anasuya has played the role of a sex worker who escapes from a brothel in Delhi after stabbing a policeman. Anasuya Sengupta has been selected as the Best Actress in the Un Certain Regard segment of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Who is Anasuya Sengupta who won award at Cannes?

Anasuya Sengupta, originally from Kolkata, has made a name for herself as a production designer in Mumbai. Currently, she lives in Goa. She has designed the set of the Netflix show 'Masaba Masaba'. Anasuya has studied from Jadavpur University. Earlier, in an interview to 'The Kolkata', Anasuya had said, 'When I got the news, when Constantin told me that our film has got a nomination at Cannes, I jumped with joy!'
