Box Office: Bumper opening of GOAT, the film will cross 100 crores on the first day! But it fails in front of 'Stree 2'

Thalapathy Vijay's action-thriller 'The Greatest of All Time' has been released in theaters on Thursday 5 September 2024. The film has arrived in theaters worldwide with an advance booking of more than 50 crores. While a huge crowd of Vijay's fans was seen in the morning and afternoon shows. Originally made in Tamil, this film of director Venkat Prabhu, however, has less power in Hindi. While the film is making a blockbuster opening in South India, it has not been able to stand in front of 'Stree 2' in North India. It seems that after the super success of 'Kalki 2898 A.D.' and 'Stree 2', Indian cinema is going to get another blockbuster in the form of GOAT. However, the reviews of the film are not very good among the crowd of fans. This film may be like a festival for Vijay's fans, but it is being described as average. The budget of the film is also Rs 400 crore. Out of this, Vijay's fee is being told to be only Rs 200 crore. Now if the film fails to impress the audience after the weekend then it may have to suffer huge losses.

Advance booking of GOAT movie

Even before its release, GOAT has crossed the 50 crore mark in advance booking collection worldwide. After 'Leo', this is Thalapathy Vijay's second film which has earned so much from pre-sale. Including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and IMAX versions, this film has done advance booking of Rs 24.50 crore in the country alone. However, the condition of the film is bad in the Hindi version, from where it has earned only Rs 50.52 lakh from pre-sale.

Overseas premiere shows of 'The Goat' were also organized before its release. If the earnings from these shows are added, then even before its release in theatres on Thursday, it has earned Rs 62 crore worldwide from advance booking and premiere shows.

GOAT did not show any strength in front of 'Stree 2' in Hindi

From 'Bahubali' to 'KGF' and 'Kalki 2898 AD', the record-breaking collection of any pan-India film depends on the Hindi audience. If a South Indian film is a hit in Hindi, it is almost certain to reach 1000 crores. However, this is not the case with GOAT, at least not on the first day. Its advance booking in Hindi is just Rs 50 lakhs. Therefore, it is seen earning Rs 1 to 1.5 crore on the first day in Hindi. While it is facing the blockbuster 'Stree 2', which has earned Rs 497.90 crore in the country and Rs 710.50 crore worldwide in 21 days. This film has also done a business of Rs 5.60 crore on the 21st day i.e. Wednesday.
