Which had scored 431 runs for 2 wickets against New Zealand in Christchurch in 1935. 20-year-old Shefali Verma surpassed Sutherland by completing a double century in just 194 balls. The Australian player had scored a double century in 248 balls against South Africa earlier this year. Shefali, who was playing her 5th Test, hit 23 fours and eight sixes in her aggressive innings. Earlier her highest score in Tests was 96 runs.

Mithali became the second Indian to score a double century
Shefali also became the second Indian to score a double century in Test cricket after a long gap of almost 22 years. Before her, this feat was achieved by former Indian captain Mithali Raj. Right-handed batsman Shefali completed her double century by stealing a run after hitting two consecutive sixes against Delmi Tucker.

Mandhana hit 27 fours
Smriti Mandhana hit 27 fours and a six in her powerful innings of 149 runs. Both of them gave the team a great start by sharing a record 292 runs in 312 balls for the first wicket. Jemima Rodrigues scored 55 runs. At the time of stumps, captain Harmanpreet Kaur (42 not out) and Richa Ghosh (43 not out) were present at the crease.
