New Delhi: The Lok Sabha Secretariat has given clarification on the controversy raised over the removal of statues of great men from the Parliament House complex. The Secretariat said that these statues have been removed due to beautification under Central Vista. After the work is over, they will be displayed properly. It was said that the statue of any great man has not been removed from the Parliament House complex, rather they are being installed systematically and respectfully inside the Parliament House complex.

It is noteworthy that due to the ongoing work under the Central Vista Project, the statues of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Constitution maker Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Chhatrapati Shivaji installed in the Parliament complex have been removed from their place. Regarding which the Congress also raised questions on Thursday. Congress media in-charge Jairam Ramesh raised this issue on social media and targeted that the statues of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Mahatma Gandhi and Baba Saheb Ambedkar have been removed from their special place in front of the Parliament House. This is a very insulting act.

After this, the Lok Sabha Secretariat informed that after the construction of the new Parliament building, a plan has been prepared for landscaping and beautification of the Parliament premises, so that this complex can be made grand and attractive in accordance with the high dignity and decorum of the Parliament. In the Parliament premises, statues of the great men and freedom fighters of the country have been installed at different places in different parts of the complex. These great men and freedom fighters established the tribal pride of the country through their life philosophy and their works and paved the way for the upliftment of the exploited and deprived society. They are the source of eternal inspiration for the present and future generations of our nation.

Due to being located at different places in the Parliament complex, visitors were not able to see these statues easily. Therefore, all these statues are being respectfully installed in a grand 'Prerna Sthal' in the Parliament House complex itself. This 'Prerna Sthal' is being developed in such a way that visitors visiting the Parliament complex can easily see the statues of these great men and get inspired by their life philosophy. In this 'Prerna Sthal', arrangements are also being made to give detailed information to the visitors about the life and contribution of our great men and freedom fighters through modern technology. So that visitors can get inspiration from their life and thoughts.
