New Delhi: Narendra Modi took oath as Prime Minister for the third time on Sunday. Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, JP Nadda and many other leaders took oath as cabinet ministers. As soon as JP Nadda joined the new government, the discussion of the new national president of BJP started. With JP Nadda joining the Union Cabinet, BJP will have to elect a new party president. There has been a pattern of appointing national presidents in the party in the last two tenures. In 2014, when the then President Rajnath Singh became the Union Minister, Amit Shah got the command of the party after him. When Amit Shah became the Union Minister in 2019, after that JP Nadda was appointed as the acting president of the party in June 2019. In January 2020, he became the full-time president. His term as president was ending in January this year, but in view of the Lok Sabha elections, he was given a six-month extension.

These names were earlier discussed for the post of BJP President

Now new names are being discussed as to who will take charge of the party. The names that were earlier in discussion for the post of party president have now been included in the Union Cabinet. The names of leaders like former MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Bhupendra Yadav were being discussed. But all these leaders have got a place in the Union Cabinet.Discussion of Vinod Tawde's name
Now after this entire incident, BJP has felt the need to look inside the party organization. Two names are being discussed for this post. Party's national general secretary Vinod Tawde and Sunil Bansal. Vinod Tawde is from Maharashtra and has been a minister in the state government before joining national politics. Currently, he is in charge of Bihar and was handling many important responsibilities during the Lok Sabha elections.

Sunil Bansal may get reward
Sunil Bansal's name is also being discussed. Sunil Bansal's work was much talked about while he was in charge of UP. After UP, Bansal was made in-charge of West Bengal, Odisha, Telangana. During the Lok Sabha elections, Bansal also handled call centers across the country, collected feedback and motivated party workers at the grassroots level. Bansal has won the trust of the top leadership of the BJP and has the skill to handle party affairs carefully.
The consent of the union is very important for the new president
There is also a discussion on whether the command of the party can be handed over to someone from UP, where the party's performance has not been good. The party's performance in the Lok Sabha elections was not as expected, so the consent of the Sangh also matters in the appointment of the new president. Anurag Thakur, who was the Information and Broadcasting Minister in the previous government, has not been included in the Council of Ministers this time, he can be given an important responsibility in the party.
