New Delhi. All the league matches of the Indian Premier League have ended. The race for the playoffs is also over and the names of four teams have been revealed. On Sunday, May 19, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Punjab Kings while the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals was abandoned due to rain. The teams of Kolkata, Hyderabad, Rajasthan and Royal Challengers Bangalore have made it to the playoffs.

After 70 league matches, four teams have now emerged for the playoffs. Kolkata and Hyderabad stood first and second in the points table. Rajasthan stood third and Bengaluru stood fourth. Talking about playoff matches, the qualifier will be played between the first and second teams. The winning team will reach the final. The losing team will get another chance. It will try to reach the finals against the winner of the match between the third and fourth ranked teams.

playoff schedule
Three matches are to be played in the playoff after which the final match of the tournament will be held. There will be one qualifier and two eliminator matches. The qualifier will be played between Hyderabad and Kolkata on 21st. There will be a match between Rajasthan and Bangalore in the first eliminator. Here the winning team will face the losing team between Kolkata and Hyderabad.

What if the playoffs are washed out by rain?
Now the question is about rain, so if it rains during the match, then efforts will be made to conduct a match of at least 5-5 overs. If this is not possible then an attempt will be made to determine the result of the match through a super over. If the entire match is washed out due to rain, then in case of cancellation the decision will be taken on the basis of ranking in the points table. The team whose position is better will advance.
