On Sunday, May 19, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Punjab Kings while the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals was abandoned due to rain. The teams of Kolkata, Hyderabad, Rajasthan and Royal Challengers Bangalore have made it to the playoffs.
After 70 league matches, four teams have now emerged for the playoffs. Kolkata and Hyderabad stood first and second in the points table. Rajasthan stood third and Bengaluru stood fourth. Talking about playoff matches, the qualifier will be played between the first and second teams. The winning team will reach the final. The losing team will get another chance. What if the playoffs are washed out by rain?
Now the question is about rain, so if it rains during the match, then efforts will be made to conduct a match of at least 5-5 overs. If this is not possible then an attempt will be made to determine the result of the match through a super over. If the entire match is washed out due to rain, then in case of cancellation the decision will be taken on the basis of ranking in the points table. The team whose position is better will advance.
