We can beat any team… Big statement by USA's vice-captain

New Delhi. America's vice captain Aaron Jones said that if his team plays cricket to its potential, it can beat any team in the world. America has made it to the Super 8 of the T20 World Cup after the match against Ireland was washed out due to rain. America, which is participating in this tournament for the first time, defeated Canada by seven wickets in Group A and Pakistan in the Super Over.

“We are definitely excited about the challenge of the Super 8s. In the last two weeks we have shown that we can challenge and beat some of the full member nations of the ICC,” Jones said during a media interaction. The US will face South Africa, West Indies and possibly England in the Super 8s and Jones said his team is ready to give a tough challenge to these big teams.

He said, “To be honest, most people did not pay much attention to American cricket. Perhaps the whole world did not know earlier how much talent we have and how well our players can perform. This was a little beneficial for us but definitely if we play the right cricket and we believe that we can beat any team in the world, then we can do it.” America has also qualified for the T20 World Cup to be held in 2026 by making it to the Super 8.

Jones said, “It means a lot to us. For the last two years we were talking about playing in the World Cup, playing more matches against full member countries and similar topics. We performed well here and it is great to enter the Super 8.” He said, “We have also qualified for the World Cup in 2026 and this is a big achievement for us. This is not only good news for us but also for the fans of America and the new generation.”
