Viral is increasing due to change in weather, how to prevent it, know from doctor

IGMC's Head of Department, Professor and MD Medicine, Dr. Balbir Singh Verma said that the weather is changing frequently in Shimla and surrounding areas. Here due to changing weather, sometimes cold wind starts blowing and sometimes due to strong sunlight it starts getting hot. Viral cases increase in such weather.

Do not take antibiotics in case of viral infection
Dr. Verma told that during viral infection, cases like sore throat, cold, pain in throat, fever etc. occur. This virus is self-limiting. This symptom gets cured in 1 to 2 days. In such a situation, it would not be right to take antibiotics. This may lead to antibiotic resistance. After a time the antibiotic stops working. However, if the viral effect lasts for 3 to 4 days then a doctor should be consulted. Medicines should be taken as per doctor's advice.

Viral is fatal for these diseases
Dr. Verma told that people who are suffering from diseases like asthma, heart failure, kidney, arthritis etc. Those who are undergoing any steroids or immuno suppression. Such people need to be more careful. Viral can be harmful for the already ongoing disease of such people. If such people go out for morning walk or for their other work only wearing masks, then the infection rate will be less. By wearing the mask, hot air will come out and only hot air will go in. Due to which the risk of catching cold will be reduced.
