New Delhi: India is fully prepared to respond to China. The newly elected NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the renaming of 30 places in Tibet. This decision is being considered a response to China's naming policy in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. This step has been taken in response to China's renaming of 30 places in Arunachal Pradesh in April, to which India had strongly objected. In the third term of the Modi government, India aims to strengthen its territorial claims by giving its name to the places located in Tibet.

According to a News18 report, the Indian government has approved the renaming of 30 places in Tibet. This list includes 11 residential areas, 12 mountains, four rivers, a lake, a mountain pass and a piece of land. These names will be kept on the basis of the Tibet region itself. It is reported that the Indian Army will release these names and these names will be updated in the LAC map. Since the standoff began on the East Ladakh border after a violent clash in the Pangong area on May 5, 2020, relations between the two neighbors have deteriorated in all matters except trade. To resolve the standoff, the two sides have held 21 rounds of military talks so far.

Despite China's repeated claims, India has consistently said that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of the country and is indivisible. The Ministry of External Affairs has said that keeping a 'fabricated' name does not change this reality. This strong reaction from India comes at a time when China's expansionist policies in areas like the South China Sea have received global disapproval.

After taking charge, Jaishankar said that as far as Pakistan and China are concerned, our relations with those countries are different and the problems there are also different. In the case of China, our focus will be on finding a solution to border issues and with Pakistan we would like to find a solution to the age-old issue of cross-border terrorism.
