Former number 1 T20 batsman David Malan has now announced his retirement from international cricket after not being able to make it to the team for a long time. He will continue to play in T20 leagues played in different countries. The top-order batsman of the England cricket team last played in the ICC ODI World Cup to be played in India in 2023. Since then he has not got a place in the team. David Malan was part of the England team that won the T20 World Cup in the year 2022.

Malan's international career
David Malan showed his batting prowess in all three formats for England. This batsman scored 1074 runs in 22 Test matches in which his best score was 140 runs. He scored 1450 runs in 30 ODI matches in which his highest score was 140 runs. Talking about T20, he scored a total of 1892 runs in 62 matches with a best innings of 103 runs not out.

David Malan is the second batsman from England to score a century in all three formats. England captain Jos Buttler has achieved this feat. The selectors did not consider his name for the series against Australia. He announced his retirement only after this decision.
