The decision to expand the terminal was taken in 2023
In order to promote tourism in Agra, the Cabinet of Uttar Pradesh Government had decided to upgrade the existing airport to the status of international airport on September 12, 2023. Under the decision, a new terminal building will be constructed on 34,346 square meters, which will have a capacity of 1400 passengers during peak hours. The new terminal will also have 32 check-in counters, three baggage belts and four aerobridges.
