New Delhi. T20 cricket is usually considered a game of batsmen, but the opposite happened on Monday. The fourth match of the T20 World Cup 2024 was completely in the name of the bowlers, who made the batsmen crave for every run. The South African bowlers dominated the match to such an extent that the entire Sri Lankan team was out for 77 runs. However, South Africa also had to sweat to achieve the target that looked easy.

South Africa and Sri Lanka were face to face on Monday, the second day of the T20 World Cup 2024. The 2014 champion team Sri Lanka won the toss and batted first in this Group D match. Its batsmen did not like this decision. South Africa bowled out Sri Lanka for its lowest score. However, scoring runs was not easy for the South African batsmen. South Africa had to bat for 16.2 overs to score the required runs for victory. The African team won the match by scoring 80 runs for 4 wickets.

De Kock was the top scorer
The dominance of the bowlers in this match between South Africa and Sri Lanka can be gauged from the fact that no batsman from either team could score more than 20 runs. South Africa's Quinton de Kock (20) was the top scorer of the match. His partner Heinrich Klaasen remained unbeaten after scoring 19 runs. Tristan Stubbs was out after scoring 13 and Aiden Markram after scoring 12 runs. Sri Lankan captain Wanindu Hasaranga took 2 wickets. He was the most successful bowler of his team.

4 batsmen including Hasranga could not open the account
Earlier, Kusal Mendis's team collapsed after scoring 77 runs. Kusal Mendis scored the highest 19 runs from their side. Apart from Kusal Mendis, only Angelo Mathews (16) and Kamindu Mendis (11) could touch the double digit mark. 4 batsmen including Sri Lankan captain Wanindu Hasaranga could not even open their account.

Anrique Norkia Player of the Match
South Africa's Anrich Norkia was the best bowler of the match. He took 4 wickets giving only 7 runs in 4 overs. Kagiso Rabada and Keshav Maharaj took two wickets each. Bartman got one wicket. Anrich Norkia was selected as the Player of the Match.
