The 2014 champion team Sri Lanka won the toss and batted first in this Group D match. The entire Sri Lankan team was all out for 77 runs. Talking about the match, Sri Lanka's team collapsed after scoring 77 runs. Kusal Mendis scored the highest 19 runs from their side. Apart from Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews scored 16 and Kamindu Mendis scored 11 runs. These three players reached double figures. 4 batsmen including Sri Lankan captain Wanindu Hasaranga could not even open their account. Enrique Norkia was the best bowler of the match from South Africa. He took 4 wickets for just 7 runs in a spell of 4 overs.
