New Delhi. The cricket teams of Pakistan and New Zealand were face to face in the first T20 match of the 5-match series. The toss could not be done on time due to rain. Although later when the rain stopped, the toss took place but by then most of the playing time had already passed. In such a situation, it was decided to make the T20 match of 5 overs each. New Zealand captain Michael Bracewell won the toss and decided to bat first. But only two balls had been bowled in the match when the match had to be stopped midway. Rain again caused disturbance. When rain interrupted the game, the Kiwi team had scored 2 runs for 1 wicket. However, a strange record was made in this match which had not been made before in international cricket.

For New Zealand, Tim Robinson and wicketkeeper Tim Seifert started the innings. Fast bowler Shaheen Afridi started the bowling for Pakistan. Two runs were scored on Shaheen's very first ball as a bye. After this, Shaheen Afridi bowled Tim Robinson on the second ball. Robinson could not even open his account after playing 2 balls. After this the rain started again. The umpires waited for the rain to stop for some time but due to torrential rain the match had to be cancelled. Tim Seifert and Mark Chapman returned unbeaten on a personal score of zero. This is the first time in international cricket that a batsman came to the crease to bat but did not score a single run from his bat.
