New Delhi. This time the team of Royal Challengers Bangalore has created history and made it to the playoffs. After losing six consecutive matches, RCB has become the first team to progress in the IPL by winning this match. Virat Kohli's dream of winning the trophy for the first time may be fulfilled but the rules of IPL seem to be coming in the way. If the situation arises to use this rule, the Rajasthan team is going to benefit from it.
The one team which is being talked about the most in the Indian Premier League at the moment is Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore. The way the team has made a comeback after losing 6 consecutive matches, such a thing has not happened till now in the history of the tournament. This team had won the playoff ticket by defeating Chennai Super Kings in the last league match. On the basis of better net run rate, RCB was successful in moving ahead leaving Chennai behind.
Will RCB be eliminated without playing?
So far this season, many league matches have been canceled due to rain. Gujarat Titans team suffered the most loss due to this. The rain completely destroyed their half-baked hopes of making the playoffs. The match between Rajasthan and Bangalore is to be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. If it rains in this match then RCB team can be out without playing the eliminator.
What are the rules of IPL?
Actually, the IPL Governing Council has not kept a reserve day for the qualifiers and eliminator matches. In such a situation, if rain spoils the match then RCB will suffer loss. If rain disrupts the match then the match officials will definitely try to conduct the match of at least 5 overs. If this is not possible then the decision can be taken through Super Over. If even 1 ball cannot be bowled in the match, then the team which is in better position in the points table will advance.
