Raveena Tandon was attacked when she was trying to defend her driver. The actress was accused of attacking three women, including a senior citizen, when her driver allegedly hit them with his car. However, CCTV footage made it clear that the allegations were false. Raveena did not release any formal statement. However, she shared the statement given by the police officials investigating the incident.
The driver was reversing the car when the argument started
A senior Mumbai police official told mid-day, “The complainant has filed a false complaint in the alleged video. We checked the entire CCTV footage of the society and found that the actress' driver was reversing the car from the road into the society while the family was passing through the same lane. The family stopped the car and told the driver that he should check if there was anyone else behind the car before reversing it. They had an argument over this.”
Raveena was abused by the crowd
“The argument turned abusive and Raveena Tandon along with her driver reached the spot to check the incident. She tried to save the driver from the mob but the mob started abusing her. Both Raveena Tandon and family went to Khar police station and filed a written complaint. Later, both of them also submitted letters stating that they don't want to file any complaint,” the official said.
No one was injured in the incident
She concluded her statement by saying, 'No one was injured in this incident. We checked the CCTV footage and found that the car did not hit anyone.' Raveena shared the statement on Instagram Stories to clarify the allegations against her.
