PoK-based human rights activist Amjad Ayub Mirza has strongly condemned the arrest of a young Kashmiri woman, Shazia Haleem, in Poonch district of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and called for her immediate release.

Mirza alleged that Shazia, an orphan, was subjected to sexual harassment by Sardar Tariq Mehmood, DSP of Sidhnoti district, which led to her arrest under false charges of misbehavior with the local police after refusing the DSP's advice. It has been done.

Nisar Shah, a lawyer and member of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan and Legal Support Foundation, has written a letter to the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan highlighting the grave injustice meted out to Shazia Haleem.

Nisar claims that Shazia's arrest and unlawful detention are worrying developments, which represent a shameful violation of her rights.

Both Mirza and Shah stressed the urgent need for an independent investigation into Shazia's allegations against DSP Sardar Tariq and the circumstances leading to her wrongful imprisonment.

They demand that those responsible for making fabricated allegations against Shazia be held accountable.

Immediate intervention in this case is considered vital by activists, who stress their readiness to seek justice by all available means if prompt action is not taken to address this oppression.
