New Delhi. After winning the T20 World Cup, the BCCI has showered money on the Indian team. The Indian board has announced a prize money of Rs 125 crore. India won the trophy by defeating South Africa by 7 runs in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 on Saturday night. The Indian team won the title by remaining undefeated throughout the tournament. This is India's second World Cup trophy in T20. Earlier, the Indian team won the T20 World Cup in 2007 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Sunday evening announced the prize money for the T20 World Cup-winning team. Jay Shah tweeted, 'I am delighted to announce the prize money of Rs 125 crore for Team India for winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.
