From where did Sitaji contest elections?
Ramayana's Sita i.e. Deepika Chikhaliya had nothing to do with politics. Deepika was born in Mumbai, grew up there and entered the world of acting from there, but she did not get as much fame in any other form as she got by playing Sita in Ramayana. Due to this popularity, he also got entry into politics. Actually, in the year 1990, the Ram Mandir movement was slowly gaining momentum. There was a deadlock between the Janata Dal and the BJP government regarding this. BJP came into opposition and during this time the Lok Sabha elections of 1991 came. In such a situation, the party wanted to perform well in the Lok Sabha elections, hence the churning was going on regarding the Baroda seat of Gujarat. Meanwhile, the then senior BJP leader Shankar Singh Baghela wanted Ramayana's Sita i.e. Deepika to contest elections from Panchmahal, but the party could not find any suitable alternative for the Baroda seat. In such a situation, the party decided to field Sita from here. Deepika, a newcomer to politics, filed her nomination under the leadership of senior BJP leaders LK Advani and Narendra Modi. When Deepika, ignorant of politics, entered the election campaign, people welcomed her. In fact, at that time the popularity of Ramayana was such that people used to leave all their work and watch Ramayana. In such a situation, people used to take to the streets to get a glimpse of Sita. Ultimately, Deepika was elected MP from here by defeating Ranjit Singh Gaikwad, who was a two-time Congress MP. He won the election by more than 34 thousand votes. Deepika got a total of 276,038 votes, while the Congress candidate got 241,850 votes. Although there is no talk of her contesting from anywhere in this election, but after the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, she is seen everywhere.

Ravana and Hanuman also reached Parliament
Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of Ravana in Ramayana, has also contested the elections. Arvind had also contested elections from Sabarkantha seat of Gujarat on Bharatiya Janata Party ticket. In the year 1991, when Sita i.e. Deepika was contesting elections from Baroda seat. In the same year, the party contested Arvind from Sabarkantha seat and he also won the election. In this way, both Sita and Ravana won the elections and reached Parliament in the year 1991. Similarly, Dara Singh, who played the role of Hanuman in Ramayana, also entered politics. Dara Singh was nominated by BJP for Rajya Sabha. He was a member of Rajya Sabha from 2003 to 2009, although both of them are no more. Sunil Lahiri, who played the role of Lakshman in Ramayana, has not contested elections from anywhere, nor is there any discussion of him contesting elections, although after the construction of Ram temple, he is also in the news and he had also reached Ayodhya.
