New Delhi: Even before the month of June has started, the temperature has crossed 45 in many states of the country. In some places, the temperature is going to reach close to 50. There is severe heat in many parts of the country. People have a question in their mind that when will they get relief from this scorching heat. The Meteorological Department says that after May 30, there will be some relief in the states of Delhi, UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, Haryana. Dr. Mrityunjay Mahapatra, head of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), said that the areas of North-West India including Delhi, which are facing severe heat and heat wave, may get relief after May 30. There will be no relief from the heat for the next three days.Temperatures are expected to remain high in June
The Meteorological Department says that parts of North-West India are experiencing severe heat and it may continue for the next three days. Its intensity will reduce from May 30. Due to active western disturbance and moisture coming from the Arabian Sea, there is a possibility of thunderstorms in the north-west and central parts of the country. There will not be much rain and there is little scope for relief. In June, the temperature is expected to be higher than normal in most parts of the country including Delhi, Western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan. The period of severe heat here may last for more days than normal. In North-West India, heat wave usually lasts for three days in June, but this time such a situation may last for two-four days more.

This time Delhi is hotter than ever before

The maximum temperature in Delhi remained above 45 degrees for the second consecutive day. There is no possibility of relief from heat for the next two days as well. A red alert for heat wave and extreme heat has been issued for May 29. The heat index was 47 degrees. That is, people felt 47 degrees of heat in 45 degrees. On May 31, moist winds coming from the Arabian Sea will bring down the temperature, but despite the drop in temperature, people will not get relief from the heat. Because due to humidity, people will have to face sticky heat. June may also start with light rain. The hottest areas of Delhi include Jafarpur with maximum temperature of 47.2 degrees, Mangeshpur 48.8 degrees, Najafgarh 48.6 degrees, Narela 48.4 degrees, Pitampura 47.6 degrees and Pusa 47.2 degrees.

It's not just the temperature that's increasing in these cities.

The Center for Science and Environment (CSE) has conducted a study on 6 cities of the country, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. This study has revealed that not only is the temperature rising but the air, ground surface temperature and humidity together are pushing these cities towards unbearable heat. A heat index of 41 degrees is considered fatal for people. According to Anumita Roychowdhury, Executive Director of CSE, in view of this change, there is a need to make heat management plans for day and night. It is necessary to take emergency measures during heat waves. Long-term plans should be made to reduce this outbreak. For this, there is a need to increase green areas and water bodies, improve the thermal comfort of buildings, reduce the heat emitted from vehicles, focus on AC and industry.
