Question 4: I have saved my final choice list, but I forgot to lock it. Now the choice filling deadline is over and I cannot make any further changes to it. Will this affect the list of choices that will be considered for allocating a seat to me during JoSAA counselling?
Answer: If you do not lock your choices, the last saved choice will be automatically locked after the last date for choice filling is over. Seat allocation in JoSAA counseling will be done on this basis. (Photo- Pexels)

Question 5: I have got a seat in the first round of JoSAA counselling but I am not interested in it. I want to wait for the next round to get a better seat. Do I need to do anything in this round?
Answer: After getting a seat in any round of JoSAA, you will have to complete certain steps for online reporting, which include (i) seat acceptance, (ii) document upload and (iii) seat acceptance fee payment. If you wish to be considered for a higher priority institute/higher priority seat within the allotted institute in subsequent rounds (except the final round), you will have to accept the seat and choose the float/slide option. If you fail to complete any of the three steps of online reporting for seat acceptance, your allotted seat will be cancelled and you will not be able to participate in the seat allocation process. Question 7: I have got my preferred seat and I am satisfied with it. Should I participate in the further seat allocation process?
Ans: No. If you are happy with the allotted seat and do not wish to participate in further seat allocation process, choose the “Freeze” option while accepting the seat and complete all three steps of the online reporting process. If you do not get a higher priority seat in any subsequent round, you will continue with the previously accepted seat.
